Attention all fifth grade families!  As of this week 55% of fifth grade families have participated in the SchoolChoice process for their middle school bound students.  As fifth grade is considered a transition year, students MUST participate in the choice process unless they wish to decline this opportunity to determine the next step in their educational career.  Do not let DPS make this very important decision for you. We have recently received some feedback from neighbors that kids are darting across Montview Blvd. on their way to/from school.  If your student walks to school on his/her own, please remind them that jaywalking is DANGEROUS and Illegal.  Please emphasize the importance of crossing at the dedicated crosswalk or stoplight when they are crossing the street. If you have a student that will be new to DPS next school year, in order to participate in Denver Public Schools online open enrollment, families may pre-enroll their student now!  After you complete the pre-enrollment process we will send you a student ID number so that you can then create a Parent Portal account.  Using Parent Portal is the best way to complete the Choice Process starting January 15, 2019.

Prospective ECE and Kindergarten familes, please join us Wednesday, January 9, 2019 from 5:30 pm – 6:30 pm for our ECE & Kindergarten Open House. Please come in the main front door of the building located on 19th Ave. We will meet in the school library.

This holiday season the Greater Park Hill Food Bank will be providing meals to hundreds of families, including many from our own school community.

In our ongoing commitment to support the Greater Park Hill Foodbank, and to help them prepare for the holidays, we will be collecting the following items:

• Canned meats – tuna, spam, Vienna sausages, chunk chicken, salmon, etc.
• Canned fruits – peaches, pears, fruit cocktail, etc.
• Kitchen utensils – spatulas, ladles, aluminum foil, plastic wrap, and can openers
  

Please drop your donations in the boxes provided outside the office or in the red wagon located in the hallway outside the cafeteria.  Thank you in advance for your donations!
